Violence on the Metro

Please read this blog if you ride the WMATA Metro. http://lugnochro.blogspot.com/2005/11/what-happened-thursday.html

This is sad. This woman got mugged in broad daylight on a redline train near Van Ness and Cleveland Park and no one helped her. The driver was just repeatedly trying to close the doors as the woman tried to get attention and help. No one helped her as she was being mugged. The driver kept trying to close the doors, although protocol reequires the driver to stop the train. The metro station manager would not help the lady. And there were no metro police around to assist.

Please be cautious of rowdy groups of 4-7 teenage girls. If you feel uneasy and the train is in motion, immediately get off at the ext stop and remove yourself from the presence of these criminals. You're gut reaction is usually right, trust it, it is your survival instinct kicking in. Yes, we humans do have that ability.

When I was a teenager, I remember giggling, gossiping about boys, and having plain fun. The most awful thing about these girls robbing people is that their form of 'fun' consists of violating people and stealing ipods and smart trip cards. If these girls are caught they should be sent to iraq to rebuild the nation. What a brilliant idea...Send criminals to Iraq to rebuild the nation. I will have to adress that in another post. In the meantime - stay safe.
